The procession, once pre-Christmas, now lights up late winter/early spring, set for March 18, 2026. Led by a beadle and serenaded by the Epping Forest Pipe Band, it’s a truly head-turning parade making its way to current Lady Mayor, Dame Susan Langley.
Though you'll miss the butchers' bangers and mash lunch (grab a Gregg's instead!), you can still soak in the atmosphere. Sadly, the historic Boar's Head Tavern, a Shakespearean haunt, was demolished centuries ago – what a swine! But for a truly bizarre and free piece of living history, join the crowds outside Butchers' Hall around 2:30 pm.
